Special guest speaker: 'Doc' Bayne on "The Chain that Saved the Colonies."
The "Great Chain" -- 500 yards of sturdy iron links, forged in New York, and and strung across the Hudson River at West Point -- prevented the British invasion of the New England colonies during the American Revolution. Join us to hear Doc Bayne, noted historian and educator, talk about how the Great Chain was made, how he discovered the long-lost forge in Sterling Forest that made it, and the fate of the 750 or so links of the Great Chain.
Admission is free, and donations are always welcomed.
