At our April 3 meeting we'll welcome New Jersey author Linda J. Barth whose book, A History of Inventing in New Jersey: From Thomas Edison to the Ice Cream Cone. Most of us know about Tom Edison, who patented the phonograph, the light bulb, and many more innovation -- but he was one among many inventors who have helped to civilize us:
The modern submarine, Band-Aids, movies, color TV, ice cream cones, the vacuum cleaner, even bubble wrap -- all invented in New Jersey. Linda will explore many of the groundbreaking, useful, and fun inventions and their New Jersey roots at our April 3 meeting.
